Well-known actor turned politician Kamal Haasan is ready for nomination for the Rajya Sabha from Tamil Nadu by the current DMK party, as per newly surfaced details. Notably, when the MNM-DMK alliance was officially revealed, Kamal voiced that his collaboration with the DMK was rooted in a passion to the development of Tamil Nadu, rather than a wish for influence. The upcoming round of Rajya Sabha elections is due for July this year. In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Kamal’s MNM participated in 140 seats but unsuccessfully did not win any. On the cinematic front, Kamal is working on several prominent projects, with “Thug Life” directed by Mani Ratnam due to release in June, and “Indian 3” scheduled for 2026 in 2026. As part of this alliance, MNM won one seat for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections in 2025. Kamal Haasan’s political party, Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM), forged an alliance with the DMK, headed by MK Stalin, during the Lok Sabha elections last year.
