Two pairs are signified by essentially two, one pair hands. Put simply, you may have two queens and 2 tens, or any combination really. Another cards remaining in the hand do not create a winning hand when combined. This hand beats a one pair hand.
You get a 3 of a kind whenever you have three cards of the exact same number or face card. You may have three fives, three jacks, or three sixes. Again, the remaining cards do not make a winning hand when combined. This hand beats a two pair and a one pair hand.
A straight occurs whenever you have numbers in a consecutive order. By way of example, ace, two, three, four, and five, or seven, eight, nine, ten, and jack. A straight always consists of 5 cards. A larger straight will beat a smaller straight. So in the example mentioned, if one person had the first group of cards Ace through five, and another had seven through jack, the second person would win the hand for the larger straight. This hand beats all previous hands, one pair, two pair, and three of a kind.
A flush is any combination of 5 cards with the same suit. By way of example, five spades, five hearts, etc. This hand beats all previous hands.
A Full house is a mix of a three of a kind and also a two of a kind. For instance, three tens and two Aces. Again, the higher combination will win. If one has 3 tens and 2 fours, but another has 3 Aces and 2 sixes, the second will win. This hand beats all previous hands.
Four of A Kind – This hand has four of the same number or face card. For example, four kings. This hand beats all previous hands.
The straight flush is a “small” straight of the exact same suit. As an example, four, five, six, seven, and eight of clubs. Anything fewer than 10, consecutive, and of the same suit is a straight flush. This hand beats all previous hands.
The royal flush will be the king of poker, thus called “royal”. It’s the hardest to get, but will beat some other combination of cards. It consists of consecutive cards, within the same suit, of 10 through Ace.
